This was a gift to the family living in a remote area of the Philippines. They do not have electricity in their homes, but everyone with a cell phone. This allows them to charge the phone without paying for the use of a generator. They have said it is actually charging the phone very quickly.

The solar charger is exactly what I was looking for. I completely emptied my Tenergy "D" rechargeable batteries, put them in the solar charger, put the unit in an external window on the sunny side of the house for 10 hours and had a rate of 90% in the four batteries. The solar charger works with all common types of batteries, AAA, AA, C and D. Most good quality rechargeable batteries can be recharged up to 1,000 times. I do not understand why someone who may be without power for a few days or few weeks can survive without a solar charger. You can charge the batteries and running and throwing them away when they are dead, what a waste.

What can I say? It loaded my 4 level of the C drive during the winter sunshine in the afternoon. This requires that you charge 4 batteries at once, can not deal with 9V batteries and if the cell phone cord is not one of the 4 different types of add, you're SOL. Beyond that, it seems to do what he says.

I have this in an emergency when there is no energy to recharge the batteries for flashlights and other things needed. The design is a bit thin, so I hope it holds together, and it seems a bit expensive for what I have but it probably used to think that when there is no power.
